Abstract [eng] Sport takes increasingly important place in the life of society. Sports and sportive games develop not only individual mastery, but also psychical and moral features. Changes happening in the society have also affected the sports, thus we can not deny a presumption that becoming of sports more professional also affected a change of its valuables. Majority of sports researches are subject to acknowledge the educational function of sports as a means for transfer of humanistic valuables, and the sportive activity as a social phenomenon, which is able to affect human behaviour (Malinauskas, 2001; Stonkus, 2000; Miskinis, 2006). Contemporary life offers very many possibilities to choose, herewith requiring rational self-determination of a person, and this is particularly difficult for a young, developing individual. Thus the research of valuables becomes very relevant in the modern-day social life. The insights of expression of the valuative orientations of the persons going in for sports acquire the especial relevance in this context, when analysing them in the case of karate sports. The subject of the research: expression of valuative orientation. The aim of the research: to ground theoretically and explore empirically the expression of young karate sportsmen valuables in the process of sportive training. Methodology of the research: the research was performed on the grounds of M. Rokeach’s research methodology of valuative attitudes, ideas of existential philosophy and psychology, humanistic psychology and pedagogy, and using constructivism as a means of the research and as the theory of knowledge. The methods of the research: theoretical analysis and generalization, questionnaire, statistical analysis of the data. 161 respondents participated in the research. The obtained data of the analysis and the research show that the expression of a young karate sportsman’s valuables is determined by the personality of his coach and the family. The most tolerable valuables of the coach and the family reflect most sharply in the valuative orientations of the young sportsman. Apparently, this is influenced by the fact that the valuables of coaches and parents are identical, thus they enhance the expression of valuative orientations of the sportsmen. The hypothesis that the valuables tolerated by the sports coaches and parents and the intercorrelation between contemporaries and friends of a team are predominant in the expression of valuative orientations of the young karate sportsmen was proven.
