Abstract [eng] In the final master thesis, we have analysed the theoretical aspects of organization management researched by various Lithuanian and foreign authors. Here, we have analysed the conception of administration and management in the context of management competencies, when implementing the administrative functions in organization, styles of management, significance of training, and importance of development of management competencies. We have performed the analysis of the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania, which regulate the administration in the district courts of the Republic of Lithuania. The aim of the research - to evaluate the management competencies of the managers according to the main administrative functions and to reveal the demand of the managers’ competencies development – has been implemented by applying qualitative methods of research. The research results obtained by means of the semi-standardized interview method confirmed the hypothesis that the demand to develop management competencies in the context of implementation of administrative functions in organization depended upon the manager’s level and responsibility. We have examined, how the managers perceived the importance of the main administrative functions (planning, organization, management and control), and established the level of management competencies of the managers, when implementing these functions.
