The author of the Master thesis raises the problem of selection of transport infrastructure objects on purpose that investments in them would afford the maximum socioeconomic benefit. A case of Joniskis town was chosen for the analysis. The aim of the research was to ascertain, what investments into the local streets of Joniskis town would give the greatest socioeconomic benefit. A detailed analysis of the material of Lithuanian and foreign authors, who have analysed the investments, and Lithuanian and foreign legal acts regulating investment into transport infrastructure, was done in the paper. The models of investment effectiveness calculation chosen and complemented by the author were applied to the particular streets of Joniskis town. Upon calculation, the hypothesis formulated by the author that the investment into the local streets of Joniskis town would bring the biggest socioeconomic benefit (would be the most effective), if the section between Mokyklos street, part of Siauliai old street and part of Turgaus street would be reconstructed, was justified. The findings of the research will be applied practically by Joniskis District Municipality by establishing the underlying objects, for which the support of EU funds will be used. |
