Abstract [eng] Although currently left – handedness is being more tolerated than several decades ago (students are allowed to write with the hand they feel they are better at in schools), the left – handedness us still treated as an unusual phenomenon due to the stereotipe attitude which is well – essablished un our society. The conclusion of scientists about the abilities of the left – handed is contradictory: some of them claim that the left – handed are more gifted and more creative individuals, the other on the contrary say that the avarge of intelligence quotient of the left – handed is lower than the intelligence quotient of the right – handed. The cognition of the left – handed individuality based on thorough investigation can help to find nonviolent pedagogical ways in order to help the left – handed to adapt in the surroundings which are ajusted for the right – handed and to allow them to develop their abilities and talents. The object of investigation is the attitude of the educators towards the academic abilities of the senior pupils who are left – handed and the link of their psychoemotional statei n the process of education. The aim of the investigation is to establish the assessment of the senior left – handed psychoemotional statei n the context of the academic abilities. The work hypothesizes two things: 1) It is presumable that the left – handed are more introvert than the right – handed. 2) The left – handed are more sensitive than the right – handed. 3) It is presumable that the academic abilities of both the left – handed and right – handed stand out in the process of education. 140 senior pupils from 7 secondary schools of Marijampolė region tooh place in this investigation. G. Aizenk EPI test – questionaire and EPI – test – queshonaire were used for this investigation ‚ the pupils‘ temperament type was established acording Aizenk „Circle“. The data was archived with the help of programme SPSS 14. To justify the statistical importance student‘s t – criterion and spearman‘. Correlation analysis was used. The hypothesus that the left – handed are more introvert than the right – handed didn‘t prove – the correlation link between the hand – writing and the introversion extraversion wasn‘t found. The hypothesis tha the left – handed are more sensitive that the right – handed didn‘t prove. The correlation link between these two features doesn;t exist. The hypothesis that the academic abitities of the left and right – handed differ proved patly. The majority of the right – handed pupils have better marks in sciences and Languages and the best past of the left – handed have higher evaluation from the Humane studies (History, Geography), Informatics and Arts (Music, Drawing, Technologies).
