SUMMARY Lithuanian manors’ cultural heritage cannot be separated from our nation history. Fertile plains’ soil attracted landowners to settle in the northern part of Lithuania. For this reason, in Žiemgalos territory, in the past, there were a lot of manors. This territory had much more manors than other Lithuanian’s areas of similar size. The main purpose of this reseach is in Žiemgalos’ regions such as Pasvalys, Pakruojis and Joniškis remained manors’ cultural heritage of republic and local significance. These manors of cultural heritage are remained until nowadays. The greatest part of these manors are totaly left neglected and they are rapidly breaking down. Today, in most cases, those manors do not have their landowners and are not neglected by anybody. They are also destroyed without merci. I think that it is very important to preserve them and to preserve what is left from them. We all have to do this because manors are our cultural heritage. The preservation of our cultural heritage its problems and future perspectives are the main problems important today. The aims of this research are: to analyse legal preservation and protection aspects of those cultural heritage former manors; to evaluate the registration problems of former cultural heritage manors; while analysing reveal the importance of preservation; to clear up the main preservation and protection problems of former cultural heritage manors; during the reconnaissance expedition the author of a research visited, inspected and fixed the former manors of cultural heritage remained in Pasvalys, Pakruojis and Joniškis regions; the author also did research related to evaluation of present situation, determination of state and using conditions; the questioning of former manors’ present owners and also of cultural department workers of mentioned regions, using the methods of interview and survey; during the research which helped to evaluate the present situation of former manors; it also helped to analyse the future perspectives and to present the protection and preservation possibilities of this cultural heritage. To sum up, it is important to say that manors are the main objects of cultural heritage which can best present Žiemgalos’ region historical evens and also reveal the variety of architectural styles used in those time manors. It is known that manors were often cultural places. In we could reveal the history and the main events which took place in the manors which are remained, we could not only restore their cultural life but also introduce the society and also preserve this cultural heritage for future generations. |
