Master’s thesis presents analysed and systematized various Lithuanian and foreign authors’ literature on government borrowing causes and impact on various macroeconomic and social indicators. In this work there are carried out dynamic and structural analysis of the 2004-2011 years Lithuanian government debt. There are researching the dynamics of government expenditure and estimating productivity levels of productive and unproductive functional government elements of expenditure analysing the causes of government borrowing. The thesis investigates the relationship between government debt and Lithuanian government budget balance, GDP, payable interest, inflation, long-term interest rate, unemployment rate, household consumption expenditure, current account deficit, gross fixed capital formation by private sector. It is evaluated the government borrowing impact by the aspect of government debt indicators. |
