Abstract [eng] Theoretical analysis of meeting equal opportunities and situation of antidiscrimination practise in Lithuania, analysis of relations with social activities and social pedagogy of a consultant of equal rights as a specialist of socio-educational activities and theoretical modelling of professional functions and roles of a social pedagogue as a consultant of equal rights have been accomplished in the work. It has been hypothesised that if the functions, roles and demand of a social pedagogue as a consultant of equal rights in the institutions providing educational and social services were defined, activities directed towards meeting equal opportunities would be sustained. The aim of the interview was to ascertain particularities of activities of representatives in the field of social, meeting equal opportunities and cases of discrimination as well as to reveal attitude towards functions, roles and workplace of the new specialist. The aim of the questionnaire survey was to substantiate professional abilities and demand of a social pedagogue as a consultant of equal rights. During the course of the research modelling, analysis of the interview content and statistical data analysis (descriptive analysis of rates and averages) of questionnaire survey were accomplished. During the course of the interview 2 social educators, 2 employees from the social department and 2 employees from the social day care centre were questioned (N=6). 115 schoolteachers and schoolmasters from secondary schools and special training-schools, 47 social workers, 7 representatives from the field of health service and 17 employees from the labour exchange (N=187 ) took part in the questionnaire survey. The main conclusions of the empirical research are the following:  Participants of the interview were of the opinion that expansion of a social pedagogue’s functions would be unhelpful. Therefore it would be more useful to legitimize a social pedagogue as a consultant of equal rights that could work in the institutions providing educational and social services.  A consultant of equal rights should hold his or her clients in respect and maintain confidentiality as well as be professional and reliable so that people would have trust in him or her and that his or her work would bring expected benefit. A consultant of equal rights could work at the department of education and science, higher schools and the centre of social services. It is supposed that if that kind of specialist started at work places, there would be less discriminatory disturbance as well as breaches of equal opportunities and intercourse of the work collective would get better.  The hypothesis was confirmed. The majority of respondents agreed that a social pedagogue as a consultant of equal rights is necessary and thus activities oriented towards meeting equal opportunities in the institutions providing educational and social services would be strengthened.
