Abstract [eng] The paper deals with theoretical analysis of homosexuality and the situation of sexual minorities in society and how negative attitude and lack of tolerance limits their social life. Hypothesis: implementation of tolerance education program will have positive changes in senior student’s tolerance towards sexual minorities. To determinate 12th graders attitude toward sexual minorities was used questionnaire. 214 seniors participated in the survey. Subsequently the program of tolerance education towards sexual minorities was implemented. 10 students from 12th grades participated in the program. Empirical part of paper analysis senior student’s attitude towards sexual minorities and effectiveness of tolerance education program. The most important conclusions are: 1. According to respondent’s expressed opinion intolerance and hostility towards GLBT people at schools are strongly expressed. The main reason for negative attitude is lack of information. Teachers avoid talking about these issues and express negative attitude towards sexual minorities themselves. The survey showed that education is needed not only for students but also for teachers. 2. There are clear highlights between control and experimental groups. Participants of experimental group gained knowledge and ability to see a person not his sexual orientation. Participants of control group can’t understand and accept GLBT people because of their incomprehension of homosexuality. And the most important - the fact of homosexuality takes prior place which affects relation with GLBT people. 3. Educational program of tolerance for sexual minorities gave positive changes for student’s tolerance towards GLBT people. This shows that the program was effective and suitable for further expanded education. Abbreviation used in this paper GLBT - gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual.
