In the Master’s thesis problems of industrial parks‘ development and efficiency were formed, theoretical and legislative aspects of industrial parks‘ establishment and development were analyzed, researches, feasibility studies, recommendation documents on industrial parks were analyzed and systematized. Analysis of the theoretical material revealed that, based on the concept of organization as a system and the concept of synergy as the result of interaction between its elements, the basic assumption of the industrial parks‘ efficiency is synergy. The results of the empirical research showed that the analyzed reconstructional industrial park is significant for Ukmergė district not only because it attracts internal and foreign direct investments, but being established in a brownfield site it also helps to promote the image of Ukmergė as an attractive district for potential investors. The results of the empirical research also revealed that synergy is the basic assumption of industrial parks‘ efficiency. Synergy is created through diversification of industrial parks‘ additional services and through the cooperation of the companies established in the industrial park. Through four main mechanisms – sharing resources and activities, spreading information and resources, similar business and sharing image – joint values and benefits are created, they are bigger than the sum of these values and benefits created separately and this makes the activity more effective. |
