Abstract [eng] The main purpose of this master thesis is to evaluate the impact of Information Technology evaluation methods and organization size on the success of IT operations. The work consists of three main parts: the analysis of literature, the research and its results, conclusion, and recommendations. Literature analysis reviews most common Information Technology evaluation methods used among the Information Technology companies. During the literature analysis, 7 most common evaluation methods were identified and further examined in the work. Examined methods: Balanced Scorecard, Key performance indicators – KPI, Dashboards, Earned Value Management – EVM, Service Level Agreements, Six Sigma, Information Technology Infrastructure Library – ITIL. Literature analysis is used to describe factors that determine success of IT operations. After the literature analysis the author has carried out the study among Lithuanian Information Technology companies to determine the influence of used IT evaluation methods on success of IT operations in the company. 32 employees of selected organizations that work in IT sector of Lithuania participated in the study and have presented the answers to the prepared questionnaire. The main purpose of the questionnaire was to find out what IT evaluation methods the organization uses and how well it performs. The research findings underwent statistical analysis using the SPSS program. The alignment of the Likert scale was assessed using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, consistently yielding values higher than 0.7 in all instances, indicating a high level of scale consistency. Regression analysis was employed to establish a correlation between the used IT evaluation methods and the success of IT. The impact of organizational size on the relationship between IT used evaluation methods and the success of IT operations was assessed using moderator analysis. The performed research revealed that IT evaluation methods positively impact the success of IT operations. Six out of seven IT evaluation methods can contribute to more successful IT activities. To enhance the success of ongoing IT operations, it would be beneficial to apply the following performance evaluation methods - Balanced Scorecard, Key performance indicators – KPI, Earned Value Management – EVM, Service Level Agreements, Six Sigma, Information Technology Infrastructure Library – ITIL. It was not determined that organizational size would influence the relationship between IT evaluation methods and the success of IT operations. The conclusions and recommendations summarize the main concepts of literature analysis as well as the results of the performed research. The author believes that IT industry organizations would benefit significantly from implementing IT evaluation methods to enhance the success of their operations.
