This work examines the Environmental Protection Support Program of the Republic of Lithuania implemented by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania, its objectives, sources of funds and means of use. Although the Environmental Protection Support Program of the Republic of Lithuania is only an additional source of funding for environmental protection measures in Lithuania, and the funds received and accumulated do not account for a significant part of the total funds collected for environmental protection, they contribute to environmental protection to a greater or lesser extent each year, with the aim of reducing the damage caused to the environment and its components in Lithuania. The list of sources of funds for the program, as set out in the Law on the Environmental Protection Support Program of the Republic of Lithuania, is extensively analyzed in the paper. The work also provides an overview of the use of the funds of the Lithuanian Environmental Protection Support Program for specific measures. The Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Lithuania is the main institution implementing the Environmental Protection Support Program of the Republic of Lithuania, which is entrusted with a wide range of functions related to the protection of the environment, but within the framework of the Environmental Protection Support Program of the Republic of Lithuania, the most important task is considered to be the assignment of the task of using the funds of the Environmental Protection Support Program of the Republic of Lithuania. The Strategic and Financial Management Unit of the Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Lithuania is tasked with coordinating the administration of the projects under the Lithuanian Environmental Support Program and with ensuring that the program is implemented and that the allocated appropriations are used legally and for their intended purpose. |
