AUSRA PAKALKAITE THE ANALYSIS OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION STATE, ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND AUDIT THAT WAS PERFORMED IN A JOINT-STOCK COMPANY “DVARCIONIU KERAMIKA” The aim of my Master thesis is to analyze the environment protection state, environment protection management systems and audit in a joint-stock company “Dvarcioniu keramika”. The tasks of the work: 1. To analyze the literature about the management of environment protection and audit. 2. To collect and review data about the activities of “Dvarcioniu keramika”. 3. To evaluate the environment protection state of “Dvarcioniu keramika” (how it influences atmosphere, water, soil, and its noise). 4. To analyze the treatment of waste that is gathered during the manufacturing. 5. To overview the effectiveness of application of environment protection management systems in “Dvarcioniu keramika”. 6. To analyze the effectiveness of environment protection audit application in the company. Conclusions that were made from the previous tasks: 1. The environment protection management system of “Dvarcioniu keramika” impels the company to realize the opportunities of saving resources and reducing waste. 2. According to the quality of production, innovative technologies, and modern laboratory of ceramic tiles testing, the biggest and modern producer of ceramic tiles in the Baltic countries satisfies the requirement of European standards. 3. “Dvarcioniu keramika” has to reduce the waste amount for a production unit and to use productivity of devices in a more effective way. 4. Waste that is gathered during production is managed according to the requirements of waste management rules. 5. In “Dvarcioniu keramika” the system of environment protection management satisfies the requirement of international standard ISO 14001. 6. They perform internal and external audits of the company during which inadequacies are eliminated. The system of environment protection is one of the management means of the company that helps to determine environmental changes that appear because of the company’s work, their importance and ways how to reduce the negative influence. In September, 2002 “Dvarcioniu keramika” received a certificate that confirmed that the company had the environment protection system that satisfied all the requirements of standard ISO 14001. This certificate of environment protection management system assures that the environment protection system of “Dvacioniu keramika” is effective and constantly improving. |
