Abstract [eng] |
Home automation is an innovative technology that enables the remote control of household devices based on IoT technology. Systems are used for various purposes and the methods of creation can be centralized or decentralized. These systems are adaptable for the purposes of convenience, security, energy savings and efficiency. The choice between wired and wireless technologies depends on the user's priority – either security or convenience. Smart home platforms such as OpenHAB provide a unified control space, and when choosing a system, it is crucial to consider individual needs. Home automation is rapidly gaining popularity in Lithuania, especially among young people, incorporating various solutions like security systems and smart devices. The general computer science curriculum and microcontrollers like Micro:bit and Arduino UNO R4 WiFi encourage students to learn and create various home automation projects, fostering skills in computer science, engineering and creativity. The conclusions emphasize the diversity of home automation and the importance of adapting technologies to individual needs. Public education and information dissemination are essential factors for the successful implementation of a home automation system. |
