Abstract [eng] Theoretical analysis of the influence of competences of physical education educators and the created programs on physical capacity of pupils having conduct disorders has been carried out in the present Master Thesis. A hypothesis, that physical education educators’ ability to apply their educational knowledge within practice and the created physical education program influence physical capacity of mentally retarded pupils, has been set. 49 mentally retarded pupils of four special schools as well as 6 physical education educators of these educational institutions have participated in the research. A questionnaire survey, a EUROFIT test and analysis of physical education program have been carried out in order to determine whether the competence of physical education educators and the program influence physical capacity of mentally retarded pupils. Key conclusions of the empirical research are as follows: 1. Literature provides information that physical capacity of mentally retarded pupils is poorer in comparison to their abled peers. The results of strength, stamina, liveliness, balance, running speed, flexibility and reaction time of mentally retarded children are worse than of abled children. 2. The obtained data shows that pupils of group III distinguish out of groups under research for the average height and weight. Upon completion of EUROFIT test we have estimated that the research group II demonstrated the best physical capacity results, meanwhile, the worst ones were demonstrated by research group IV. The results obtained from research groups I and III are worse comparing to research group II, however, they are better than the ones of group IV. 3. The research carried out showed that physical capacity results of mentally retarded pupils were more influenced by physical education educators’ ability to apply their knowledge and skills within practice than the created physical education program. The above proves that theory (in our research – physical education program) not always corresponds to practice (physical capacity results).
