Abstract [eng] Relevance of the Work. Lithuanian (Šurkutė, 2007, Navaitis, 2007, 2009, Valickas, 2003, Civilka, Lamanauskas, Osintaitė et al., 2004, Šaparnytė, 2007), as well as foreign (Duran, 2003, Butler, Kraut, 2002, Berns, 2008, Kutner, Olson, 2008, Giddens, 2005, Münsterer, 2010, She, 2004) scientists highlight the importance of internet in everyday life of the teenager and stress that every internet user must be alert within the virtual space and should pay attention to threats. The safe internet is the knowledge and understanding what possibilities as well as threats could be met in virtual space; and in case of problems – where to get help. One of the main institutions, which could contribute to the safe Internet use of teenagers, is the school. Object of the Research. Educating safe Internet use for teenagers in comprehensive schools. Aim of the Research: theoretical substantiation and empirical analysis of the role of school within the formation of safe internet use for teenagers. Hypothesis: teenagers are intensive internet users; teenagers understand threats of the Internet and use Internet safely; school organises the purposeful education for safe Internet use. Methods of the Research: theoretical (scientific literature analysis), empirical (questionnaire for teachers, parents and children from 7 - 8 forms), statistical (descriptive and correlation analysis of the Research data). Results of the Research. Analysis of the Research hypothesis revealed that: 1. Teenagers are intensive internet users, who browse every day for over one hour. The most popular are egocentric web-pages and pages for the information exchange, where the communication takes place as well as discussions about games / logical games as well as exchange of impressions, feelings. 2. According to parents, teachers and children, teenagers partially understand threats of the internet. The frequent answer was that they do not face threats or face them rarely. 3. It was defined that the safe internet use is only partially taught in schools, because unwillingness of pedagogues to inform children and their parents about the safe internet use as well as to integrate them into various tasks related to this issue, appeared.
