The aim of this master's work is to analyze and evaluate the competitiveness of Lithuanian milk industry using theoretical methods and models as well as to form the directions developing the competitiveness. Assessment of the competitiveness of Lithuanian milk industry was made using the PEST analyses, M. Porter's five forces and diamond patterns for domestic market, and the revealed comparative advantage (RCA) and relative trade balance (RTB) indicators for foreign market. Based on M. Porter's \"Diamond\" model, the competitiveness rating of Lithuanian milk processing enterprises revealed that AB ,,Rokiškis sūris” and AB ,,Pieno Žvaigždės” have a very strong competitive position in the milk processing sector. AB ,,Žemaitijos pienas” takes a strong competitive position, and competitive position of AB ,,Vilkyškių pieninė” is weak. The competitiveness' assessment of Lithuanian milk industry, according to the RCA and RTB indicators analysis, shows that the Lithuanian milk processing sector is competitive with respect to foreign trade performance. Made projections allow to affirm that situation of the milk industry continues to deteriorate, since export markets as well as domestic market tends to narrow. |
