The aim of the master‘s final paper is to evaluate Baltic countries possibilities to adopt the euro. Economic conditions, which are measures of readiness of countries for the adoption of the single European Union currency are presented in the theoretical part of this paper by defining it in Macro-economical theory and Maastricht Treaty context. According to that criteria comparative analysis of Baltic States macroeconomic indices are given in the practical part. It is established, that all Baltic States does not fulfills price stability, government budgetary position (General government deficit), and stability long-term interests criteria. Also quantitative and experts’ projections are given to evaluate Baltic States feasibility to adopt the euro in the future. Rising problems as Baltic States are seeking to adopt the euro are summarized foreseeing means of the inflation and general government deficit reduction. |
