Master’s paper analyses opinions of the people working in Siauliai City Schools about the changes in teaching/learning quality and efficiency while the schools participated in the School Structure Improvement Program (2006-2009). The paper analyses and systematizes Lithuanian and foreign authors’ theoretical and practical researches of education organizations. Achievements and deficits in school management reorganization area as well as its improvement aspects are reviewed. Peculiarities of School Structure Improvement Program (2006-2009) implementation and realization are analysed in detail: purpose of the program, its formation principles, expression of new managerial elements, assessment criteria, results achieved. Scientific and practical problems of new internal school structure and management pattern are formulated. The results obtained disclosed the weak and the strong sides of the new school structure and management pattern, showed the areas to be improved as well as continuance opportunities. Author’s hypotheses that: - position of most of the people working in Siauliai City Schools about the changes in school performance while participating in the School Structure Improvement Program is positive; - opinion of most of the respondents about the opportunities to continue the new school management patters is negative, predetermined by unfavourable economic factors as well as declining school finance management – were confirmed. |
