| Abstract [eng] | Unemployment insurance is a social guarantee for people who lose their jobs for reasons beyond their control. As the main source of income is lost, unemployment is classified as a social risk, and the aim of the benefits is to ensure an adequate standard of living during unemployment. The right to unemployment benefits and the procedure for granting them are laid down not only in Lithuanian national legislation, but also in European Union and international legislation. |
