Abstract [eng] |
The most essential factor for company’s competitive ability in global market is the base of new knowledge – searching of knowledge, knowledge absorption and creation of new knowledge. Clusters are geographic concentrations of interconnected companies, specialized suppliers, service providers, firms in related industries and associated institutions in a particular field. Members of the cluster compete but also cooperate with each other. The aim of the work is to evaluate and to compare the influence of knowledge creation and diffusion on competitive ability of international and regional clusters. The object of the work is a regional and international cluster. The methods of research are the analysis of science literature, comparative analysis, the analysis of statistic data and documents, interview, scientists’ consultations. The main tasks of the work are: to describe conception and structural features of the cluster; to evaluate possibilities and the role of knowledge creation and diffusion in the regional cluster; to evaluate means of knowledge flows and the role of knowledge in the international clusters; to compare the importance of knowledge on competitive ability of international and regional clusters; to analyze the possibilities of knowledge creation and diffusion in Amber road new materials cluster. The outcomes of this work are: knowledge creation and diffusion have much more significant influence on competitive ability of international clusters, than on regional cluster. The creation and activity of international and of regional clusters are impossible without knowledge flows. This is because international cluster has specificity of knowledge creation and diffusion of regional cluster (social capital, no trading dependences and architectural knowledge) and at the same time it has important links with global networks and foreign direct investments. The Amber road cluster analysis results conclusion that without knowledge diffusion and creation clusters can not work effectively and even can not be created. The work consist of 92 pages, including 5 tables, 10 pictures and there are 60 sources in the list of literature. |
