Abstract [eng] The topic of the study: enhancing the emotional health of preschool children by applying music therapy methods in choral singing classes. Aim of the study: to investigate the possibilities of enhancing the emotional health of preschool children by applying music therapy methods in choral singing classes. Objectives: 1. To analyse the peculiarities of children's emotional development in pre-school age; 2. 2. to review the possibilities of application of music therapy methods in strengthening the emotional health of preschool children; 3. To assess the impact of music therapy methods in enhancing the emotional health of preschool children during choral singing sessions. Participants: two groups of subjects took part in the study: eight children aged 5-6 years, twice a week, and their parents/guardians, who answered a questionnaire at the beginning and at the end of the study. A total of 17 parents/carers completed the first questionnaire and 16 completed the second. Research methodology: several methods were chosen to conduct the empirical study: observation of children's emotional competences (through video analysis) and assessment using the Emotional Competence Assessment Sheet, the results of the parents' questionnaire survey and the researcher's diary. The results of the study: after observing the changes in the expression of emotional competences of children aged 5-6 years through the implementation of the music therapy programme, it was found that the experimental programme "Music therapy programme for choral singing: improving the emotional health of pre-school children" is in principle suitable for the enhancement of the emotional health of pre-school children - at the end of the programme, the children were better able to verbally explain their emotions, they were better able to stick to the agreements, and they were more willing to share the instruments and other tools. Conclusions: Integrating music therapy into choral singing promotes emotional and social development and creates a supportive environment where children can develop social and emotional skills while enjoying the benefits of music.
