Abstract [eng] This paper attempts to reveal the characteristics of abuse during adolescence by analyzing adolescent abuse experiences, post-traumatic stress reactions, and psychological resilience. The current study used data from the first wave of the ongoing longitudinal study "Stress and Resilience in Adolescence." The investigated sample (N = 154) consisted of persons aged 12 to 16, of which 75 were female. The study used a demographic questionnaire for abuse exposure developed by The Norwegian Center for Violence and Traumatic Stress (NKVTS), the Adolescent version of the International Trauma Questionnaire, and a Psychological Resilience Scale (RS-14). Data analysis was done using ANOVA, Student's t-test, Chi-square criteria, and Logistic Regression. Results show that 78,6% of adolescents have reported at least one type of abuse over their lifetime, of whom 23,1% were identified as at risk for post-traumatic stress disorder. The most common type of abuse was psychological abuse. Higher psychological resilience in adolescents was associated with less reported abuse and a lower risk of posttraumatic stress disorder.
