SUMMARY The theoretical part of the Master‘s Thesis discusses the concept of musical education and imagination of preschool children, their psychosocial and physiological characteristics, factors of stimulating and inhibiting musical imagination, and training methods. The second part presents results and analysis of empirical (qualitative) study data. Object of the study. Developing musical imagination in preschool children. Aim of the study. Reveal the peculiarities of developing musical imagination in preschool children. The following tasks have been raised: describe, based on the analysis of philosophical, psychological, pedagogic literature, theoretical basics of preschool musical education and imagination; 2) present psychosocial and physiological characteristics of preschool children; 3) discuss methods of developing musical imagination in preschool children; 4) conduct an empirical study aimed at finding out attitude of pedagogues towards the peculiarities of developing musical imagination in preschool children. The following findings have been obtained after completion of theoretical analysis and empirical study: 1) The concept of musical education can be found back in the historical period of Antiquity. Over the ages, theoretical and practical methods of musical education were formed. Imagination stimulates the feelings of a pre-schooler, it helps to create, and is closely associated with the individuality of the child. 2) Preschool age is important in psychological, social and physiological aspects. In this age, children learn to establish themselves in socially acceptable ways. 3) musical imagination is developed using various methods that stimulate emotions in children, promote creativity and musical expression. 4) Results of the study revealed the following: music teachers are able to describe musical imagination; the peculiarities of developing musical imagination in children have been distinguished in the study. They are revealed through the musical expression of students: motion, voice, facial expressions, etc. and through various methods of education: dancing, listening to music, singing, making music, rhythming, etc. Key words: music education, musical imagination development features.
