Abstract [eng] This Master's thesis presents the reception of Lucretia's suicide and its moral perspective in the works of Patristic philosophers (Tertullian, Aurelius Augustine), taking the specific historical conditions during the lifetime of these patristic philosophers into account. The work begins by presenting: 1) Lucretia as a historical person and her suicide; 2) the moral perspective to suicide of the authors of Ancient philosophy (Titus Lucretius Carus, Lucius Aneus Seneca); 3) Patristic philosophy as a chapter of the history of philosophy. The work is concluded with an examination of the authors of patristic philosophy, dividing this examination into two chapters devoted specifically to the reception of Lucretias' suicide as presented by Tertullian and Aurelius Augustine while presenting the implications of these approaches for the subsequent ecclesiastical attitude towards suicide.
