Abstract [eng] Master's thesis analyzes the possible influence of the family as the factor, promoting the rehabilitation process of the addicts. The hypothesis is set: support and assistance of the close persons determine changes in relationships with the family and quicker successful rehabilitation of the dependent person. With the means of questionnaire survey method qualitative research was carried out in the community of the people undergoing rehabilitation from drugs and psychotropic substances in Šiauliai district Kuršėnai eldership Romučiai village LPF Agapao, aimed to figure out importance of the family as rehabilitation process catalysing factor for the addicts. In the course of selected problem study, 17 males undergoing treatment from alcohol dependence and 5 rehabilitation centre professionals (psychologists, social workers, educationists) were interviewed. The data was processed using the content analysis method. The results showed that for every addict the disease causes psychological and social consequences: loss of self-esteem, personal degradation, decline in communication with the people around you or lack of understanding of these interactions. It is influenced by social, psychological, and community factors. The data analysis carried out revealed that indifference of the close people, condemnation, isolation, health problems, loss of social networking, these are the main reasons having led to the crisis. In the motivation dynamics addicted individuals link the internal \"break\" moment with the family and its efforts to support them in starting the treatment process. Therefore, the respondents identify, on their road to sobriety, the close people as the most important groups of people (who still have them) and community members who provide psychological, moral, social support, assistance and understanding, equivalent, non-judgmental relationship, but they call community members, treatment program and personal motivation as the factors accelerating the rehabilitation process.
