Abstract [eng] Problematic issues of the research: How are volunteers coordinated in social work with people with disabilities? How are the stages of the coordination process conceptualised from the perspective of staff and volunteers? What could be the model for coordinating social work with people with disabilities? The subject matter of the research: coordination of volunteers for social work with people with disabilities. The objective of the research: to develop a model for the coordination of volunteers' social work with people with disabilities based on the results of theoretical and empirical research. The tasks of the research: 1. On the basis of theoretical analysis to conceptualize the phenomenon of volunteering, revealing the peculiarities, forms and types of volunteering, the significance of voluntary social work with persons with disabilities. 2. Using theoretical analysis to define the functions of a social worker in the process of coordination of social work volunteers, the stages of the process of coordination of volunteers in Lithuania and Ukraine. 3. To reveal the stage of the coordination process of the involvement of volunteers in social work with persons with disabilities using qualitative research methods. 4. To reveal the stage of coordination process of motivation of volunteers to stay in voluntary activities for social work with persons with disabilities by applying qualitative research methods. 5. To reveal the stage of the process of coordinating the termination of the activities of volunteers for social work with persons with disabilities using qualitative research methods. The research methodology and methods. The research is based on the theory of social constructivism, which states that all reality is socially constructed from the objective and subjective experiences of individuals (Berger and Luckmann, 1999). The main focus of constructivism is on the social processes that provide science and other knowledge (Gergen, 1985). The research analyses the stages of the coordination processes of social work volunteers with people with disabilities, presented not only from the perspective of specialists, but also from the perspective of volunteers themselves. The research methods: analysis of scientific literature, partial operationalisation of the research object, semi-structured interview was applied to obtain research data, qualitative content analysis was used to process research data. The most important conclusions of the empirical research: 1. Involvement of volunteers usually takes place on the principle of cooperation, with the help of information dissemination. Risks in accepting volunteers - lack of competencies of volunteers, personal qualities. The selection of volunteers is carried out by social institutions, voluntary activities; 2. The supervision of the relationship between the volunteer and the staff of the organization is based on various methods. Volunteering is planned in advance. Volunteers are given the opportunity to organize activities and activities on their own, they can change activities. The variety of choice of activities is emerging. The process of evaluating activities takes place in various ways. Volunteers are provided with the necessary resources, in some cases themselves. Volunteers share facilities with other staff. Training is organized during voluntary activities. Volunteers receive initial briefings upon arrival. The needs of volunteers are being met. Volunteers are encouraged through physical gifts, honors, and professional career opportunities; 3. Voluntary activities terminated voluntarily (due to personal reasons of the volunteer; ingratitude of persons with disabilities; emotional difficulty). The termination of a voluntary activity is terminated voluntarily by the institution, usually when the voluntary activity contract expires; 4. A model for the coordination of volunteers in social work with persons with disabilities is presented.
