Abstract [eng] Eating disorders are a serious concern because of the severity of potential health risks and raising prevalence. Although much attention is paid to the symptoms of eating disorders, a deeper understanding of these disorders is still lacking. The authors of psychodynamic theory argue that eating disorders are identity disorders. Therefore, the aim of this work is to reveal narratives of personal becoming in cases of eating disorders. The study involved 8 women (aged 21 to 26 years old) who were diagnosed with eating disorders (anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa). The research data were collected through a semi-structured interview at the Eating Disorders Center and analyzed by narrative thematic analysis. Four main topics were revealed: (1) Parents in non-parental roles; (2) The dilemma of a sense of identity in adolescence; (3) One-sided body identity ; (4) The false self in the age of the young adult. It has been observed that the importance of parents is emphasized in the life narratives of girls with eating disorders. Participants in the study tend to define themselves through the relationship with the father and mother, so their autonomy is underdeveloped and characterized by dependence on parents. In adolescence, study participants experience a dilemma of a sense of identity and a conflicting approach to sexual maturation. In addition, the role of bullying and violence in the sense of identity is crucial. And the age of young adult is characterized by a false self. It is hoped that this work will be beneficial for professionals working with eating disorders, themselves with eating disorders and their loved ones.
