Abstract [eng] Adolescence is an important and sensitive stage of development, and stressful experiences at this stage are associated with a higher risk of psychological disorders. However, most of the studies are conducted on stress experienced by adults. Stress experiences, the prevalence of stressors in the adult sample are examined. There is a lack of studies in the adolescent samples. More and more researches are examining traumatic experiences, but there is a lack of research on how do other stressors work. This paper investigates stressors in a sample of adolescents in the context of adaptation based on ICD-11. The aim of the study was to identify the peculiarities of stressful experiences, signs of Adjustment Disorder and behavioral and emotional difficulties in a sample of adolescents and to evaluate their connections. A demographic questionnaire was used in the study; stressful experience and Adjustment Disorder symptoms were assessed on the basis of the Adaptive Disorder - New Module 8 scale (ADNM-8); emotional and behavioral difficulties were assessed using the Power and Difficulty Questionnaire (SDQ). The study involved 200 adolescents from various schools in Lithuanian cities, of whom 97 were girls and 103 were boys. The age of the study participants ranged from 14 to 18 years (M = 15,33; SD = 1,32). The results showed that the majority of adolescents in Lithuania had experienced at least one of the indicated stressors (76,5 %) in the past year. The number of stressful experiences was found to be positively correlated with the overall estimate of behavioral and emotional difficulties, the number of responses to Adjustment Disorder, and the provision of psychological support. Significant associations were found between stressful experiences, behavioral and emotional difficulties, and Adjustment Disorder signs.
