Abstract [eng] The aim of this paper is to describe the dynamic mechanism of cultural meanings based on Lotman's theories of cultural semiotics through the examples of Mekas' diaries, which would reveal this cultural interaction as the one creating and being created. The object of the work - Mekas' diaries from the 1970s. The results of the analysis showed that the relationship between individual and collective culture is tense and the interaction is not continuous. Nevertheless, the reflection on avant-garde cinema described in Mekas' diaries becomes a critique of cinema, in which this internal tension of cultures becomes apparent. In diaries, avant-garde culture is constructed as organized. The research revealed that the dynamics of culture make sense of the descriptions developed in Mekas' diaries. Because the avant-garde cultural texts he shares are on the periphery of culture, presenting them through a tense relationship with nuclear Hollywood cinema simultaneously seeks to change the positions of avant-garde cinema in the general cultural environment. Therefore, Mekas' diaries, which turn into cultural meta-descriptions, present culture at the same time as the shaped and the shaping.
