Abstract [eng] This thesis analyses the works of travel literature of Lithuanian modernist writers Antanas Vaičiulaitis and Jurgis Savickis. The thesis analyzes ways of construction and signification of space by two authors who tend to focus on various aspects even when their paths cross. Therefore, in analysis, great emphasis is placed on the identity of the narrator and how his point of view and produced routes can change reader’s perception of space. The methodological approach chosen for the analysis is combined from the works of Lefevbre, Tuan, Certeau, and others who talk about the connection between traveler and space and how those links can be transformed into written text. After trying to interpret Vaičiulaitis' and Savickis' travel diaries with the assistance of these ideas, it turns out that different approaches can lead readers to various kinds of "journeys" which are little related to the empirical world but creates new significant constructs instead.
