Abstract [eng] This paper examines the application of Lithuania's forced diplomacy strategy to Belarus after 2020. The fraudulent presidential election and mass protests in Belarus in August. Lithuania also refused to recognize the head of the neighboring state. This was followed by diplomatic tensions, the forced landing of the aircraft and the crisis of border migrants. Unbalanced bilateral relations and the attempt to pursue a coalition strategy of forced diplomacy have not only isolated Belarus from the West, but also created a favorable environment for the development of Russian power in the region. Thus, based on the conditions of “success” of forced diplomacy, it is desired to provide an explanation of how and why, despite the economic, diplomatic and other coercive measures used, the threat posed by Lithuania was not sufficiently effective.
