Abstract [eng] There are a lot of unanswered questions about identity formation in digital space. The aim of the present study was to examine the interrelationships between adolescent identity development processing styles and socio-digital participation. There were 146 participants in this study, all of them adolescents from one school in Lithuania, 9-12 grade, age between 15-19 (91 girls, 42 boys, 13 unknown). Adolescents completed the socio-digital participation questionnaire and the Identity Style Inventory. Correlation analysis showed positive relationship between Informational identity processing style and social networking, also, search for knowledge. Normative identity processing style showed positive relationship with blogging, creating in media, action gaming, and self-presentation. Diffuse—avoidant identity processing style showed positive relationship with social networking, social and action gaming, also, self-presentation. The results showed some differences of digital use between girls and boys. According to multiple regression results, Informational identity processing style is a predictor of search for knowledge. Normative identity processing style is a predictor of creating in media and self-presentation. Diffuse—avoidant identity processing style is a predictor of social gaming.
