Abstract [eng] The master 's thesis analyzes the organization of catering services in Radviliškis district municipality educational institutions. The final work consists of three parts (theoretical, methodological and empirical), conclusions, recommendations, used literature. The first part of the work analyzes the scientific literature, which examines the theoretical aspects of the organization of catering services. The concepts of services and public services, as well as catering services were discussed during the analysis of the literature. Elements of the process of organizing the provision of public services have been identified. The main ways of providing public and catering services and possible mechanisms for the provision of these services have been identified. The legal regulation of the organization of catering services in educational institutions is discussed. The second part of the work presents the validity of the research methodology of the organization of catering services, qualitative research methods and instruments, describes the characteristics of the research and the research ethics. The empirical part of the work presents the results of the analysis of qualitative research data. This part presents the results of the analysis of documents and the analysis of structured interviews with the heads of educational institutions of Radviliškis district municipality. The analysis of the content of the documents revealed that there is a need to update the “Description of the procedure for organizing paid meals in the educational institutions of Radviliškis district municipality” (2010). After analyzing the strategic plans, regulations and other documents of educational institutions, it was identified that the institutions have not prepared procedures or approved other documents that would perform the regulatory function and assist in organizing the provision of catering services. The analysis of the results of the interviews highlighted the problems in organizing the provision of catering services. The results of the research revealed that educational institutions lack independence in organizing the provision of catering services, as the supplier that takes over the public tender takes over all the functions of organizing the service. The main problems faced by the heads of educational institutions, lack of competence in the field of public procurement, lack of a specialist in the institution. For profit, the service provider does not guarantee the quality of the service. Based on the findings of the study, recommendations were formulated for the Radviliškis district municipal council and administration, Radviliškis district municipal sports and services center, heads of educational institutions, and catering service providers.
