The main purpose of this master thesis is to evaluate the most important factors that determined the difficulties of banking sector in the context of changes in the economic enviroment. In order to implement the goal and objectives were used these methods: the analysis of foreign and Lithuanian scientific literature, data collection and systemization is used to find out the determinants affecting the Baltic banking sector structure changes and functioning difficulties. Research data is processed using Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS software. Based on the problem areas presented in the empirical research, it is noticeable that there is no consensus on what problematic aspects need to be studied in the functioning of banks and their difficulties. The authors provide an assessment of the impact of capital on the performance of the banking sector, study significant factors influencing the functioning of banks or compare banks from different countries. This work presents the research methods examined in the scientific literature, which are applied in practice in the analysis of the Baltic banks. The research of the master‘s thesis was carried out according to the research methods used by the authors in the scientific literature – a pairwise regression model explaining the factors influencing the performance of Baltic banks, the performance matrix showed changes in performance between large and small Baltic states banks and financial indicators of banks in Baltics fluctuated in the same directions during the review. |
