The master’s thesis “Narratives of Memory in the Works of Stanisław Morawski” examines the works by Moravskis (Stanisław Morawski, 1802–1853): Memories – Several Years of My Youth in Vilnius: The Memoirs by Hermit (Kilka lat młodości mojej w Wilnie (1818–1825)), In Petersburg 1827–1838: The Memoirs by Hermit and Jokes-trifles (W Peterburku, 1827–1838: wspomnienia Pustelnika i Koszałki Kobiałki), as well as the cycle of stories A Bit from Everywhere (Z każdej chatki po chłopku), volume 1: From Merkinė to Kaunas: The Story by Hermit (Od Merecza do Kowna. Gawęda pustelnika), volume 2: The Noble Brothers: The Story by Hermit (Szlachta-bracia. Gawęda Pustelnika), taking into account narrative forms and genres such as anecdote, story, description. The analysis aims at revealing how the memory contents are communicated and how different types of memory interact: collective, individual, cultural, communicative memories. |
