Abstract [eng] The purpose of the present study was to determine the links between basic psychological needs satisfaction and their balance across the context of school and extracurricular activities, and adolescent’s school engagement and subjective well-being. The sample consisted of 184 (71,1% girls) adolescents, who participated in extracurricular activities during COVID – 19 pandemic. Adolescent’s basic psychological needs satisfaction in school and extracurricular activities were evaluated using Basic psychological needs satisfaction subscale from Basic psychological and frustration scale (Chen et al., 2015). Adolescent’s school engagement was evaluated using Engagement subscale form The multidimensional school engagement scale (Wang et al., 2019a). Adolescent’s subjective well-being was measured by two subscales: Positive emotions subscale from PERMA framework (Kern et al., 2015) and Satisfaction with life subscale (Diener et al., 1985). The results showed that adolescent‘s behavioral, emotional and social school engagement could be predicted by basic psychological needs satisfaction in school and extracurricular activities. Adolescent’s life satisfaction could be predicted by basic psychological needs satisfaction in school and age. Need balance across context was not significant predictor of adolescent school engagement and subjective well-being.
