Links between the peculiarities of technology use and psychological well-being among older adults. Vengras, L. Vilnius university. Vilnius, 2021, pp. 62. This research focused on identifying how the older adult’s usage of technologies in different activities, the usage of different technologies, technological self – efficacy and the COVID – 19 experience is related to psychological well – being. The main goal of this study was to evaluate the links between peculiarities of technology use and psychological well-being among older adults. A total of 181 older adults participated in the study, of whom 100 were women and 81 were men. The age of the respondents ranged from 50 to 77 years (M = 58.57, SD = 6.43). Study participants filled the study form online. Instruments used in the study: Media and technology use and attitudes scale: usage subscales, Modified computer self – efficacy scale, Lithuanian psychological well – being scale (additional version). Correlation and regression analysis revealed significant relationships between psychological well-being and the peculiarities of technology use. The results of the study showed that more frequent use of technology in different activities, more frequent use of different technologies and higher technological self – efficacy is linked with better satisfaction of life areas. Also, it has been found that technological self – efficacy, the frequency of perceived loneliness during COVID - 19 and how the health has changed since the Coronavirus outbreak can predict psychological well – being. |
