Abstract [eng] SUMMARY THE IMPACT OF MANAGERS SELF MANAGEMENT COMPETENCES ON BUSINESS PERFORMANCE Agnė PIKELIENĖ Paper for the Master’s Program Business Development Program Vilnius University, Faculty of Economics and Business, Management Department Supervisor – Junior Assistant Darius Ruželė Vilnius, 2020 58 pages, 10 tables, 7 figures, 81 references. The success of modern organizations largely depends on the manager's personal qualities and competencies. Every person, founder or owner of a business puts a lot of work and effort into the success of their career or business. Unknowingly, these individuals apply the principles of personal management, but are more often referred to as self-education or curiosity. Personal management is an important part of the process of human development and competence development. Examples of successful Lithuanian business owners show the benefits and results of purposeful application of personal management principles in practical business development process. Researchers have recently become interested in personal management. This topic is new, little explored. The aim of this Master's thesis is to study the influence of manager's personal management competencies on business development results, to determine the influence of the application of organizational management personal competencies on business development results and to create an optimal model of relationship between personal management and successful business results. The research uses the following research methods: literature analysis, semi-structured interview, qualitative data - transcribed interviews. Analyzing the influence of personal management competencies of organizational managers on business development results, it can be stated that this is a new and insufficiently researched field, therefore, the main problematic issue is how specifically personal management affects business results and what is the experience of organizational managers in this field. The research problem - personal management - is a process of personal development that aims to change one's attitudes and behaviors through self-discipline, self-control and competence development to create and grow a successful business. For each organization, development and growth are important, influenced by the organization's self-knowledge, analysis, and the recognition and development of strong and weak personal qualities. Personal management is a broad term and includes many competencies that a person can develop and apply in the leadership process. The author of the thesis has chosen basic competences to reveal the influence of business development results - self-knowledge, analysis (self-awareness), learning to learn, time planning, emotion management. These are competencies that are easy to understand and can be distinguished as they specifically affect personality growth, and thus personality growth in business. Analyzing the data of qualitative research, it can be concluded that the concept of personal management is still little known and very little used by the managers of companies, however, it is obvious that the application of personal management of managers influences the performance of the company. It is difficult to determine a direct relationship or a clear impact on the performance of the company because the personal management competencies of the executives affect the microclimate of the company, the internal culture of the organization, communication between colleagues, employee responsibility and loyalty. This effect can be inferred from the results of a qualitative study of how leaders in organizations shared how your personal personality changes affect the activities of the organizations they lead. Key words: personal management, self-analysis, time management, emotion management, influence of personal management competencies on business development.
