Abstract [eng] Links between controlling teaching, students' basic psychological needs frustration and disengagement in learning. Ugnė Aleškevičiūtė. Vilnius, Vilnius University, 2020, 46 p. Lithuanian schools find a lot of difficulties – that is students’ disengagement and teachers’ controlled behavior in learning process. The aim of this study: to evaluate links between controlling teaching, students’ basic psychological needs frustration and disengagement in learning. Participants: 159 students (60 boys and 99 girls) 14–19 years old from Trakai Vytautas and Panevezys Gymnasium. Instruments - Basic need satisfaction and frustration scale (BPNSFP); Psychologically Controlling Teaching Scale (PCTS); Controlling Teacher Behaviours Scale (CTBS); Multidimensional School Engagement and Disengagement Scale (MSEDS). Main results: boys (and girls are at the same level in disengagement in learning. There is no differences between 9th, 11th and 10th, 12th (grade students’ disengagement in learning. Students’ disengagement in learning, psychological and behavioural controlling teaching and basic psychological need frustration were associated. Controlling teaching, basic psychological need frustration predicts students’ disengagement in learning.
