Abstract [eng] The subject of the master's thesis is 44 articles published by the South Korean media following the development of the Burning Sun scandal. The aim of the study was to find out how the South Korean media represents women in the case of the Burning Sun incident. The objectives of the master thesis: to reveal the methods of women image formation through feminist /gender theories; to review various articles that use the methodology of analysis of journalistic articles on the topic of women and to single out the methodology that will be used in this work; to analyze the course of the Burning sun incident and present its context relevant to this thesis; to analyze the image of a woman presented by the Korean media in the context of the Burning Sun case using feminist theories and the methods of article analysis; critically evaluate the results of Western studies (Souza-Leal, Shor, Levit, etc.) and compare them with this study; to evaluate the results on the basis of Confucianism and feminist movements in South Korea. Using methods of article analyzes, 44 South Korean articles were analyzed based on the statements of feminist theories, Confucianism statements about women, and feminist movements in South Korea. It was concluded that journalistic articles published on the topic of violence against women in different countries differ little, with similar commonalities: little talk about women and victims, or they are presented in a negative light, we can think that it is a global thing. Within the framework of this scandal, the image of a woman is formed in a negative, passive way. The issue of violence against women is not new to South Korean women, sexual violence is one of the main reasons for the feminist movement in South Korea, and the still-living ideology of Confucianism encourages girls to remain silent about their experiences. The master's thesis may be useful for researchers further analyzing the topics of violence against women, women’s representation in Asia or South Korea.
