The Poetics of Space in Antanas Škėma's Novella Series "Olofernas" On the basis of Algirdas Julius Greimas' semiotic method, applied in the analysis of literary works, the study of poetics of space in Antanas Škėma triptych "Olofernas" is carried out. The study highlights the conceptual semiotic-related aspects of time and space and focuses on the properties of the literary stream of consciousness and its appearances in the trptych. With a help of a the discursive level analysis, the signification of the categories of space is used to define the general structure of the narrative and to reveal the main value of the work. The research is based on the relationship between the continuity of signification and the theme of the work itself. The semiotic analysis reveals this modernism work, which reminiscences the stream of consciousness at first, as having a clear structure which may be disclosed in a relationship between the signification of the time and space. |
