The Changes of Link Between Emotional Difficulties and Screen Time of Preschool Children During One Year Despite the growing importance of smart technologies in person’s everyday life, there is a lack of continuous studies that analyze relation between emotional difficulties and presence on screen time. The aim of this study is to reveal the connection between the emotional difficulties of preschool children and their presence on the screen time. 178 pre-school children participated in the present study. The study analyzed data from two stages with a gap of 11 months (mean age in the first stage was 43 months, in the second stage - 55 months). Data were collected using Description of the Child's Behavior and Questionnaire on Child's use of IT Devices, Development and Social Environment. Results showed that there is a mutual positive connection between children’s anxiety / depression and their presence on the computer on weekdays and on a smartphone every day. Increasing the presence of children at the computer every day, increasing children's emotional and emotional difficulties. As the daily use of a smartphone and hours spent on the computer during working days increase the difficulties of children's emotions increase as well. With the growing emotional difficulties and emotionality of children, mothers spend less on the computer. The presence of children on the smartphone every day, the presence on the computer during the working days, and the reduced presence of the father on the computer during the week predict the children’s anxiety / depression after a year. The presence of children on the smartphone every day and the presence of children on the computer during working days predict difficulties of children’s emotions after a year. |
