Abstract [eng] In this dissertation the possibilities of ethno-musical attitudes’ development among the schoolchildren in higher grades have been based by applying modernized forms of folklore expression in the process of ethnical music knowledge (as one of possible ways to gain knowledge in ethnical music). The performed quantitative research allowed determining the current situation of ethno-musical attitudes among the schoolchildren of higher grades in the Republic (diagnostic research); it also helped to reveal the feasibility study on the applicability of modernized forms of folklore expression in the process of ethno-musical education (experimental research). By means of diagnostic research the dominating negative attitude towards the traditional forms of ethnical music expression among higher grade schoolchildren has been approved, while the evaluation of modernized forms of ethnical music expression is positive. The results of research have emphasized the predominating features, which make influence on the ethno-musical attitudes and their development among the schoolchildren of higher grades: schoolchildren’s musical experience, age, grade, type of school. With reference to the conclusions of theoretical analysis, results of diagnostic research and the educational experience of the author of this dissertation the model of the development of ethno-musical attitudes by applying modernized forms of folklore expression has been created and presented. After the performance of the experimental research it was proved that by applying modernized forms of folklore expression in the process of ethno-musical education (especially during the extracurricular activities), the attitudes of higher grade schoolchildren towards the traditional Lithuanian ethnic music experience positive influence. With reference to the results of the performed dissertation research empirically proved practical recommendations for music teachers, managers and specialists contributing to the spread of ethnical music among the youth have been provided.
