Abstract [eng] Negative effects of trauma transmission from generation to generation are observed in clinical samples; however, general population studies show that the offspring of victim families may have even greater psychological resilience. This study aims to achieve a better understanding of psychological resilience among the offspring of the victim families, considering their use of coping skills. Methodology. A total of 746 people (40.8% men and 59.2% women) participated in the current study. Participants were asked to indicate whether their family members are victims of occupational regimes, to answer questions about their coping strategies, resilience, optimism and hopefulness for the future. Results. Individuals who come from victim families more often than those with no historical trauma experiences in their family pray and try to overcome the difficulties themselves without the help of others, but at the same time, are more likely to turn to family members or friends for help. Conclusions. People of the affected families take more active problem solving - do so themselves or seek help from their loved ones, or use their religious practices.
