Abstract [eng] The Master’s thesis consists of a mixed technique collection of eight works named “A message in a social network”. I have chosen shapes and fragments of cracked walls as basis for my collection. Digital printing and spraying techniques were used to convey the artistic image of the work. The compilation of a young woman's shapes, minimal colours, bright spots and other details merge into a conceptual language of signs which can associatively be understood as an expression of society: the signs of decline of values and consumerism as a whole. Multi-layered compositions were designed using Adobe Photoshop CS4 program. Eight works of my collection “A message in a social network” as if constitute a symbolic album, allegedly uploaded to the social network and can be freely \"consumed\" by everybody. We all know that social networks are spreading rapidly, like a virus, in modern society: real life and communication are transferred to the virtual space, this way blocking the reality. The aim of my Master’s thesis \"A message in a social network\" and a mini-art campaign is to draw attention towards the dangers of social networks. Psychologists have been increasingly talking about the issue of the dependency on social networks: more and more people spend their days online, thus forgetting the real values and real communication. The collection works depict women immersed in social networking and consumerism, and the audience of Šiauliai Art Gallery will trample the path which will be the connective element of my collection. It will represent a social network trail, a window in a social network where everyone will be able to post their comments. I will call the exhibition visitors to resist the virus of the social network and not to replace the real communication by virtual one. In order to substantiate the works, the theoretical analysis was applied in the descriptive work and similarities with works of other authors were searched for. Since the collection \"A message in a social network\" was based on the idea of conceptual artists that states the importance of the idea and not the object of the work, it was based on the creative works of Eglė Rakauskaitė, Reda and Arūnas Uogintai, Nomeda and Gediminas Urbonai. The collection works were analyzed and the conclusions were written by applying the interpretation method.
