Abstract [eng] This master thesis offers analysis of current situation and perspectives of social business in Lithuania. Theoretical part is based on analysis of main social business models which are illustrated by examples that are already implemented in practice. Also social businesses are compared with socially responsible companies in order to show their fundamental differences. Copyright conception of social business present situation and prospects research is formulated based on the main problems and advantages of social business in general. While taking in to consideration various definitions of social business provided by scientists and organizations new definition was formed which was used in this thesis. To reach the main aim of the research narrative method of analysis based on structural interview of the experts, statistical data, regulations and long-term progress strategy of Lithuania is used. This method is chosen as the one which can ensure qualitative representation of the results becauses of the novelty of this issue. Research part was organized according to copyright conception which was created by author. Present situation of social business in Lithuania is analyzed by evaluating the situation of social enterprises and non-governmental organizations, scale of social value they create and legislation which affects their activities. Analysis of long-term progress strategy of Lithuania “Lietuva 2030” helps to reveal social business trends from political perspective. On the basis of information provided in theoretical part about social business and opinions of experts’, main criterias, which makes social business initiatives popular in society, are indicated. As the best tools which can illustrate trends of those criteria civic empowerment index and the results of entrepreneurship level in Lithuania survey were chosen and analysed in context of social business. Taking in to consideration all aspects of the research, main challenges and opportunities that social businesses are facing in Lithuania are explored. Based on those main prospects of social business in Lithuania are revealed.
