Children bullying has become an actual socio-cultural problem in recent decades. Means of prevention and support measures from the wrong environment play an important role in protecting children rights. The national prevention of violence against children and the child support programme of the year 2008-2010 7.3 measure consolidates “Olweus” bullying prevention programme (OBPP). The programme created by the Norwegian professor of psychology Mr Dan Olweus is applied in Lithuanian schools of education and is oriented to the participation of the whole school community acquiring new knowledge through the learning programme. It defines the main scientific problem- how to analyze the efficiency of “Olweus” bullying prevention programme through the experience of the school community gained while participating in OBPP. The object of the research is the analysis of the experience of the school society members participating in the children bullying prevention programme “Olweus” in the contex of knowledge, values, and beliefs. The aim of the research to analyze the experience of the school society members participating in “Olweus”bullying prevention programme in the prevention of bullying actions. Such methodological concepts are followed in the thesis: humanistic psychology, philosophy of new humanism, the theory of interactive symbolism, social constructivism, and the theory of pragmatism. Theoretical methods including the analysis of the scientific literature, comparison, and interpretation; empiric qualitative methods- the analysis of the content were used. By the means of the analysis of the content, it is tried to analyze the aims and principles of the children bullying prevention programme. Following the analysis of the content questions for a semi-standardized interview were completed. 12 members of the secondary school society who implement OBPP participated in the survey. The analysis of the discourse was performed. The survey revealed cognition of the social cultural phenomenon and experience in the preventive activitiesof those school community members who participate in OBPP. Received data suggest that the hypothesis of the survey has proved out- school community members participating in OBPP gained the experience which is significant in prevention of bullying actions: they know peculiarities of the bullying phenomenon, roles of the participants, their positions and characteristics; situations of victims, means and ways of preventive activities. The thesis has three parts. Theoretical bases of the bullying phenomenon essence and the prevention programme are analyzed. Methodology and methods are revealed in the second part. The empirical survey of OBPP efficiency at school on the base of the school community members’ experience is given in the third part. |
