Postgraduate work of Education quality management \"Evaluation and Development Possibilities of Vocational Information Model for 14-19 year-old Students (Case Study in Pakruojis District)\" The work was done by Eglė Kriukaitė. Research adviser Associate Prof. Dr. Aušra Kazlauskienė. Effectively provided vocational guidance services are very important not only for education system, but also for labor market and their interaction. Those services are the most important political element of training and employment in national, regional and local levels, as well they are the component of active labor market policy. In the European Union context vocational guidance is one of the most important factors in promoting employment, labor force adjustment to labor market conditions, entrepreneurship and also equal opportunities. The subject research: The aim of research is to evaluate the quality of vocational guidance (in Pakruojis district), and also to offer the potential for improvement in accordance with the present situation as the activities are not insufficiently organised and structured in the sphere of vocational guidance. The survey involved students (age 14-19) from Pakruojis district, and also school experts who are responsible for vocational guidance. Total number of respondents is 193. The results of research revealed and confirmed the hypothesis, that activities of vocational guidance in schools are developed insufficiently and are not systematic. According to Pakruojis district students the vocational guidance works well enough, but activities could be improved as they are not systematic. In students’ opinion, if they get comprehensive information constantly, it would be easier for them to choose future profession and educational institution. In schools vocational guidance is insufficient, although theoretically it is an urgent problem. The forms and expression of vocational guidance activities are not developed enough. The quality of vocational guidance would improve, if there were a post of vocational guidance consultant. In such case students’ requirements would be satisfied more professionally (consultation, organization of events, concentration of information, etc.) The role of vocational adviser is growing in the schools, but their competence and experience in this work are insufficient. Teachers would like more vocational guidance seminars. In summary it is possible to affirm, that very important success and quality factor is a creation of systematic and coordinated activity; cooperation; the improvement of this activity and searching for innovatory methods; the community understanding about the meaning of vocational guidance. |
