Nowadays it is very important for a sport teacher to apply acquired scientific knowledge in practical activity. Every coach has to use his knowledge creatively, to apply them for every sportsman individually, to produce new ideas and implement them. Therefore, a coach shall first be an innovator, a creative specialist. Subject of the research: Evaluation of creativity conveyed through sports activities by tennis coaches. A goal of the research is to identify creativity in sports activities expressed by tennis coaches, considering peculiarities of their personal features. Methods of the research: theoretical analysis and summarizing; surveying; document analyses; analyses of statistical research data. Research scope consists of 176 medium and highly skilled sportsmen – tennis-players (n=176). Research organization phases.During the first phase research of scientific literature was performed during which creativity, features of creative personality, creativity peculiarities of a coach during sports activities, creativity structure, creativity as an educational mastership of a coach and creativity training in sportsmen issues were analyzed. During the second phase research hypotheses were developed, research goals and tasks were defined, research methodology was composed. During the third phase of the research sportsmen were surveyed; the goal of the survey was to evaluate creativity of tennis coaches and personality peculiarities of the coaches. During the forth phase of the research a final report was developed, the received data was analyzed, conclusions were drawn and recommendations were prepared. Creativity of a coach is one of the most relevant problems in today’s sports education. Creativity competence of a coach is revealed through innovatory and nonstandard activity, independent critical thinking, search for and application of new atypical decisions. Without knowing component parts of creativity it is more difficult to reach educational mastership. Creativity is closely related to personality traits, such as diligence, dutifulness, punctuality, simplicity, friendliness and exuberance. In Lithuania, same as in the world, popularity of tennis as a type of sport is increasing. More people are willing to take part in this type of sport both among children and adults. Tennis coaches (men and women) may work creatively and sex specificity does not influence the creativity trait. The most creative phases of coach creativity are 5th to 15th years of work. |
