This master‘s final paper seeks to evaluate the effect of foreign direct investments in transportation, storage and remote connections on the current account of Lithuania's balanse of payments. In order to reach this goal, a survey of the results of theoretical aspects and empirical investigations in foreign countries is performed. The main trends and consequences of possible effect are distinguished. Applying econometric statistical methods (Granger causality test, correlation regression analysis), dependence among investigated variables is quantitatively evaluated and formulated hypothesis, that analysed foreign direct investments during the period had a negative impact on the current account of Lithuania‘s balance of payments. Evaluation of foreign direct investment effect is presented, the main problems and ways of their possible solutions are distinguished. |
